To the rest of the world, the name Tremé became familiar with the release in 2010 of the first season of the series of the same name created and developed by David Simon, author of The Wire.
For New Orleans residents, the term Tremé has not always been part of the city's local identity.
Whether it is the folklore, historical figures, diversity, or the government's recent recognition of the multiple urban planning errors that have affected this neighborhood, this part of the city continues to reveal stories that were lived, forgotten, then resurrected in light of the different revisions of New Orleans' history.
