Israel / Palestinian Territories – France condemns attacks on the Palestinian population by settler groups in the West Bank (December 5, 2023)

Once again, France strongly condemns attacks on the Palestinian population by groups of settlers in the West Bank, and specifically Sunday’s attack on Qarawat Bani Hassan, where the Israeli army was present and in which one Palestinian was killed.

France calls on Israel to immediately take the necessary measures to stop these unacceptable attacks and to protect civilian populations in accordance with its responsibilities as an occupying power on the West Bank.

The international community has a role to play in ending this violence, which undermines prospects for peace.
