Dr. Mohammed Mustafa appointed Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority (March 14, 2024)

France welcomes the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Mustafa as Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority and offers him our best wishes for success.

We urge the formation of a new Palestinian cabinet as soon as possible. We intend to work closely with it on instituting the reforms that will make it possible to meet the many urgent challenges that exist throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territories and particularly Gaza.

As the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs said during his visit to Ramallah, a strengthened Palestinian Authority is essential in order to fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinians, ensure their stability and work toward the creation of a Palestinian State living side by side with Israel in peace and security. That is why we will continue to support it.
