SUMMARY

A journey back in time to moments of great heroism and joy in French history. On May 8, crowds gathered on the lawn of the French Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, D.C. to witness a reenactment by Task Force Geronimo that moved from the storming of the beaches of Normandy through the liberation of Paris. Curator and WWII expert Dr. Frank A. Blazich Jr. narrated the scene, and the French Embassy choir sang out La Marseillaise to emulate the electric happiness felt at the end of the war in the French capital. Guests of honor included six WWII veterans, co-chair of the French Caucus Rep Joe Wilson, and Rep Nancy Pelosi. We extend a special thanks to our sponsors who made the evening possible: Delta Air Lines, Engie, GE Aerospace, Saint-Gobain, Airbus, Arianespace, Thales, BNP Paribas, Alstom, Michelin, Orano, Schneider Electric, Total Energies and Safran.
