Hear world-renowned French harpsichordist and conductor Christophe Rousset perform live!
He plays elegant, sumptuous works by some of the greatest composers of the French Baroque, François Couperin, Jean Baptiste Antoine Forqueray, and Nicolas Pancrace Royer. This will be an unforgettable concert held in the lovely Ballroom of La Maison Française, Embassy of France.
Christophe Rousset performs in the world’s most prestigious concert halls, both as a soloist and as conductor of the famed ensemble Les Talens Lyriques. His prodigious recording output has received many premier awards and been met with great critical acclaim. For his exceptional contributions to art and culture, the French government has awarded Christophe Rousset the titles of Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres, and Officier de l’Ordre national du Mérite.
Christophe Rousset’s glorious concert is the grand finale event for ‘Festival Capriccio 2024’, a harpsichord Festival organized by Capriccio Baroque and presented in collaboration with La Maison Française. The Festival presents three of today’s most acclaimed French harpsichordists – Christophe Rousset, Pierre Hantaï, and Justin Taylor – in four spectacular concerts.
