Dr. Subra Suresh becomes Chevalier dans l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur On October 16, Ambassador of France to the U.S. Laurent Bili presented Dr. Subra Suresh with the insignia of Chevalier dans l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur, the highest honor that exists in France created in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte. Subra Suresh earned a Ph.D. from MIT in less than 2 years. Since then his career has been marked by more than 4 decades of collaboration with France: Institut Pasteur, INSERM, CNRS, Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Centrale Paris, and Ecole des Mines in Nancy. Dr. Suresh has done so much, not only in his academic work but also in his dedication to improving the human condition and promoting scientific collaboration and friendship with France, that it was only right for France to recognize his exceptional achievements.
