SUMMARY

January 17: The first French Series of 2024, “D-Day and the Liberation of France,” convened for a panel discussion with three renowned historians:
- Michael S. Neiberg, Professor of History and Chair of War Studies at the U.S. Army War College
- Craig L. Symonds, Professor Emeritus of History at the U.S. Naval Academy
- Frank A. Blazich, Curator of Military History at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History
The presentation and discussion focused on D-Day in Normandy, but also on the landing in Provence and the liberation of Paris. It was introduced by the Ambassador of France to the United States, Laurent Bili and followed by a Q&A session. Organized by the Embassy of France at La Maison Française with the generous support of Airbus, Arianespace, BNP Paribas and Michelin.
